These positions are instrumental in ensuring the performance, availability, and integrity of critical data systems that underpin healthcare delivery.

In this key role, you will lead the design, management, and optimisation of our databases and middleware, ensuring the seamless delivery of complex queries, software changes, and operational improvements that meet the needs of internal teams and external stakeholders. Your deep technical expertise will support ongoing innovation, performance monitoring, and the implementation of secure, scalable, and self-service data capabilities across on-premise and cloud environments.

Senior Database Engineers – SQL

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the administration of SQL Server databases in both cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Contribute to complex database migration projects with a focus on real-time replication and integrity.
  • Optimise performance monitoring, fault resolution, and automation of routine database operations.
  • Utilise Infrastructure as Code tools to provision and manage AWS resources.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and self-service data solutions.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Extensive experience in advanced SQL Server administration, including installations, configurations, and support across on-premise and AWS environments.
  • Proven success in real-time replication and database migrations (on-premise to on-premise and/or AWS), with a strong focus on data integrity and troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for provisioning AWS cloud resources.

Senior Database Engineer – Oracle

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the configuration, administration, and support of Oracle databases in AWS.
  • Implement real-time replication solutions using Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Provision AWS services such as Oracle RDS and EC2 using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Enhance operational efficiencies through performance tuning and automation.
  • Support hybrid cloud environments and complex data integration projects.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Advanced Oracle database administration in AWS environments, including installation, configuration, and support
  • Strong proficiency with Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication across heterogeneous databases
  • Experience in provisioning AWS resources such as Oracle RDS and EC2 using Terraform and/or CloudFormation

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to transforming healthcare delivery across NSW, ensuring connected, efficient, and secure patient care experiences through high-performing data systems.
