Senior Clinical Psychologist - Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service

This position is primarily based at the James Fletcher Campus, Newcastle. We do have satellite sites at Nelson Bay and Raymond Terrace. The Greater Newcastle Mental Health service is interested in attracting team members that are innovative, foster growth and development throughout the team and can contribute to positive team culture.
This position is 4 days per week permanently, with the option of a temporary 5th day up until the end of June 2026.
About you:
We are looking for a clinical psychologist that brings high level evidence based knowledge and clinical skill, with demonstrated experience in consultation and clinical leadership in mental health service provision. Key skills desired include the ability to provide consultation that supports the growth and development of others, the ability to lead practice improvement initiatives, skill in provision of clinical supervision and mentoring staff, the ability to adapt ways of working to maximise outcomes as well as a commitment to practice evaluation. We are looking for someone that is trauma informed and committed to working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
How you'll be supported:
We have a range of flexible work options available to staff. You will also have access to regular clinical supervision, peer supervision, and opportunities for professional development. This position is supported by the Service Manager and sits within the leadership team at Greater Newcastle Mental Health service. The role is also supported by the Head of Psychology.
Requirements:
- Generally registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology, with not less than 12 months full time equivalent on Year 5 of the Clinical Psychology pay scale.
- Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
