What You'll be Doing
Security staff work as part of a team, in collaboration with other staff, to assist with managing patients, to provide assistance to visitors, and to assist with protecting staff and securing the assets of South Western Sydney Local Health District.  

The emphasis of the role in NSW Health is on assisting with the early identification, prevention and management of incidents.  The Security staff  provide a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors according to work health and safety legislation.

It is expected that security staff provide the highest possible standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.  

NOTE: Security staff, like other NSW Health staff, must contact the police if there is suspected criminal activity on or around a NSW Health premises.  

Security staff must not place themselves, or be expected by others to place themselves, at unnecessary risk in carrying out their duties. Where there are concerns about public safety the police should be called.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. How to Apply

  1. Must hold a current NSW Class 1A Security License, Current First Aid Certificate and must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Learner's licenses are not permitted.
  2. Ability to complete a quality incident report. Please provide examples of the types of incidents you have completed an incident report for.
  3. Give examples of your experiences with conflict resolution like verbal de-escalation and an example requiring you to apply physical restraint.
  4. Ability to take instructions from supervisors and managers, collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team with willingness to work in a 7-day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays, including 12 hour day and night shifts.
  5. Ability to operate a control room, requiring you to multi-task. Please provide any control room experiences.
