Selection Criteria

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Endocrinologist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in paediatric endocrinology at the role delineation of the service.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and work collaboratively.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Also demonstrated a willingness to participate in non-clinical activities, such as administration.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to and achievements in teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Currently enrolled in or completed a postgraduate degree is highly preferred.
  6. Proven ability to embrace and manage new models of care and ability to manage and work within an interdisciplinary team.
  7. A portion of this position requires experience in tertiary metabolic bone service , please outline your experience if you want to be considered for the bone service portion.
  8. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.

As this is a “Category A” position, please refer to the NSW Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination for vaccination requirements.

 Applicants must have completed the COVID-19 vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

 ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 2 primary doses are required for Category A positions (refer to NSW Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases). 

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant. 

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.

The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title (levels A to D) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney at a level commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience.  The award of the academic title will also confer membership upon the appointee of the University Department of Paediatrics and Child Health.  The academic title will be held for the duration of The Children's Hospital at Westmead appointment.  No remuneration is attached to the University appointment.  The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to The Children's Hospital at Westmead for clinical matters.
