Are you a final-year pharmacy student passionate about making a difference in children’s health? The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) is offering an exceptional opportunity for motivated pharmacy graduates to join our dynamic and supportive team as an Intern Pharmacist.

What you'll be doing

As Australia’s largest paediatric healthcare service, SCHN provides world-class care to sick children across NSW. This internship will immerse you in paediatric clinical pharmacy, hospital operations, and quality improvement/research, preparing you for a rewarding career in health. 

What You’ll Experience: 

  • A structured Intern Training Program supported by a dedicated preceptor and a senior clinical educator 
  • Rotations for a breadth of clinical practice 
  • Intern tutorials and registration exam preparation 
  • Opportunities to engage in quality improvement and sustainability projects 
  • A chance to work on multidisciplinary teams in a child- and family-focused environment 

About You: 

  • Completed (or completing) an accredited Pharmacy degree in 2025
  • Eligible to enrol in an APC-accredited Intern Training Program
  • Strong interest in paediatric care and eager to learn in a fast-paced hospital environment

Interns will be allocated either Westmead or Randwick as their base campus with opportunities for rotation; campus preferences will be taken into account. 

Interviews will be on Wednesday 13th, Thursday 14th or Friday 15th August.

  1. Completion of a Pharmacy degree from a University that is recognised by the Pharmacy Board of Australia, or assessment by APEC (or equivalent body) as ready to undertake period of supervised practice prior to registration as a pharmacist. Work rights in Australia is required for eligibility for this role.
  2. Demonstrate good clinical knowledge and professional pharmacy skills.
  3. Proven ability to work effectively in a team of people with a variety of skill sets and responsibilities.
  4. Proven commitment to professional development and continuing education, demonstrating reflective practice and self-awareness.
  5. Demonstrate time management and prioritisation skills in a professional setting.
  6. A proven ability to show initiative and problem solve when required.
  7. Engagement in the profession of pharmacy and commitment to quality improvement and research.
  8. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
