  1. Completed a Fire Safety Officer (Health) Accreditation Course, with Fire and Rescue NSW or equivalent in accordance with NSW Health Department Circular No 2010/24; completed Module of Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training (TAE40110 or equivalent).

  2. Minimum of 2 years employment in the health care industry as a Fire Safety Officer or suitable equivalent.

  3. Demonstrated experience in assessment, implementation and evaluation of fires safety requirements.

  4. Knowledge of statutory requirements for Fire Safety in Health Buildings, Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia as they pertain to fire safety.

  5. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, in addition to report writing skills, with evidence of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Share Point.

  6. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of fire safety and evacuation training.

  7. Commitment to providing and maintaining excellent customer service.

  8. Current NSW Class C Driver’s License.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.​

 

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
