  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such under section 14 (d) of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977), with knowledge and experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) or other relevant counselling degree deemed appropriate by the employer with minimum post graduate experience of level 2 or above. Social Workers must have eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Psychologists must have a four year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology; or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  4. Demonstrated understanding and skills in providing culturally responsive child centred, family focussed counselling, support and case management to address problematic or harmful sexual behaviours with young children and their carers. Demonstrated ability to create Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community connections, engagement and collaboration to affect outcomes with an understanding of intergenerational trauma, contextual and causal factors for violence, abuse and neglect and the principles of cultural safety. Demonstrated experience participating in and/or leading quality improvement activities, service development and evaluation.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of the legal and policy framework governing child protection in NSW.
  6. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills in combination with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a small therapeutic team.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to clinical and cultural supervision and professional education and if relevant to application, experience providing clinical supervision and leading education and teaching to staff and/or students.
  8. Ability to participate in the PARVAN On Call Service, current unrestricted NSW Driver's License and willingness to provide services at different locations within NSLHD.
