Rural Surgical Fellow - Griffith Base Hospital

1. Holds unconditional Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a General Surgeon or will obtain in early 2021.
2. Holds MBBS or equivalent and within the last 2 years has obtained Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or is approaching completion of Fellowship in early 2021.
3. Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to General Surgery.
4. Willing to commit to an equitable hospital on-call roster for Surgery.
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team.
6. Willingness to teach medical students and other staff of the health service when reasonably requested with demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement and peer review, equal employment opportunity and Occupational Health Safety and Rehabilitation
7. Demonstrated significant experience relevant to General Surgery and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.
