About the role:
 

This temporary job-share position offers the opportunity to partner with a fellow Respiratory Nurse in delivering comprehensive care to individuals with respiratory conditions, including COPD and asthma. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting detailed assessments, performing spirometry tests, and leading group pulmonary rehabilitation sessions twice weekly. Additionally, you will provide vital education and support for clients requiring home oxygen therapy.

To ensure your success, comprehensive training will be provided in clinical assessments, documentation, spirometry, and the coordination of pulmonary rehabilitation programs. You will play a key role in educating clients on a variety of respiratory health topics.

A structured orientation and mentorship program will support your transition into this specialised role, with guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), experienced nursing colleagues, and the broader multidisciplinary team. You will also benefit from access to online training resources offered by the Lung Foundation and the National Asthma Council, enhancing your expertise in this critical field.

Requirements: 

Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Current Registration with the AHPRA.
  • Previous experience in respiratory nursing (desired but no essential) with completion of Lung Foundation eLearning course: Pulmonary.
  • Rehabilitation Training or willingness to work towards.
  • Proven computer literacy and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Current NSW drivers’ licence and willingness to travel for work purposes
