Are you a dedicated and driven Nursing professional ready to elevate your leadership journey? We’re inviting ambitious Nurse Leaders a unique opportunity designed to prepare and empower the next generation of Nurse Managers at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

This role will work with the Nursing and Midwifery Directorate to lead the development and implementation of the NBMLHD Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Excellence Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening leadership capability among Nursing and Midwifery professionals in Executive and Senior Management roles (e.g. Facility Directors of Nursing & Midwifery, Service Nurse Managers, and Nurse Managers Level 4 and above). 
  
Over a two-year timeline, the role will strategically design and develop a tailored program to guide leadership growth and capability uplift, actively implement and integrate the Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Excellence Program into standard practice across NBMLHD. The position will work in close partnership with NBMLHD corporate services (including Organisational Development, Education and Training, Finance, Clinical Governance and Planning) to co-design a leadership program that enhances the effectiveness of current Nursing leaders and supports succession planning by identifying and developing emerging talent.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent leadership and management experience, or other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  2. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and organise staff to achieve organisational, program and strategic outcomes.
  3. Demonstrated extensive knowledge to lead, manage, initiate and achieve innovative projects with demonstrated ability to work effectively across organisations or teams simultaneously, while balancing competing objectives.
  4. Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence.
  5. Proven ability to communicate and negotiate change and improvement strategies with senior clinicians and executives.
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Evidence of consistent demonstration of behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation with all stakeholders including colleagues, direct reports patients and consumers.
  8. A current drivers’ licence and willingness to use same as required for the position
