About the role:
F2 is a dynamic 32-bed medical ward located within John Hunter Hospital, specialising in respiratory medicine, immunology, infectious disease, rheumatology, and dermatology. As a Registered Nurse on F2, you will be part of a supportive and motivated team committed to delivering excellence in patient outcomes, patient experience, and professional development.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your clinical expertise across both medical and surgical care, with a focus on patients requiring non-invasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen therapy. The diverse case mix ensures broad clinical exposure and promotes continuous learning.

Teamwork is at the heart of F2’s culture. You will be supported by a robust framework of leadership, education, and clinical expertise, including:
- A dedicated leadership and mentoring team comprising Enrolled Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Clinical Nurse Specialists who provide regular, constructive guidance.
- An on-ward Clinical Nurse Educator and access to after-hours education support.
- A Ward Case Manager focused on patient flow, complex discharges, and reducing hospital length of stay.
- A Nurse Practitioner specialising in non-invasive ventilation and cystic fibrosis.
- A Clinical Nurse Consultant in COPD and asthma.
- Respiratory Liaison Nurses providing coordinated care for inpatients and outpatients with a range of respiratory conditions, including cystic fibrosis, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and COPD.
- Commitment to supporting your professional development through opportunities such as Clinical Nurse Specialist progression, post-graduate study, and skills advancement.
- Regular in-services covering both specialty and general nursing topics.
- Availability of additional shifts for those interested in expanding their experience.
