About the Role – Registered Nurse, Renal Outreach Service

Based at Tamworth Hospital, the Renal Outreach Service delivers specialised care to patients with end-stage kidney disease who undertake dialysis treatments in their homes. This vital service supports individuals across the New England and North West regions of Hunter New England Health – spanning from the Queensland border through to the Tamworth–Upper Hunter area.

As a key member of our dedicated team, you will play a pivotal role in providing in-home clinical care and support, travelling across our diverse and expansive region. The service also delivers comprehensive training in peritoneal dialysis and home haemodialysis, empowering patients to manage their treatment independently.

You will be supported by an experienced and welcoming team, with a structured orientation program tailored to ensure your success and confidence in the role.

Requirements:

Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel long distances for work purposes.

  • Demonstrated experience in both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, with the clinical expertise to support patients requiring complex renal care.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in multidisciplinary settings and values open communication.
  • Sound understanding of chronic illness, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach to supporting individuals with long-term health conditions.
  • Previous experience in home dialysis training is highly regarded.

  • * Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
