The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We currently have an Opportunity for a registered Nurse to work in a regional facility in an acute care area, in a well-supported environment. Staff will be fostering to use critical thinking and advances skills, with opportunity for career progression.
In your role as Registered Nurse you will assess, plan, prioritise, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team to meet defined patient/client care objectives within agreed timeframes. It is expected that you will maintain confidentiality on all issues relating to patients/clients, colleagues and NBMLHD at all times. You will be required to respond effectively to emergency situations, the changing status of patients/clients, clinical concerns, adverse events, critical incidents and complaints all while acting as an advocate to assist patients/clients, families and carers, make informed decisions in relation to their Health Care needs, treating them with respect and responding to their needs.

What you will bring to the role
- Current registration as Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in critical care nursing as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate program or equivalent experience working as a registered nurse)
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidenced based practice
- Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster including day, evening and night shift according to the unit/service requirements
