About the role:
Our Child and Family Health Nurses do a fantastic job introducing newborns and their families/carers to the services provided by our community health service. We have a great record of meeting Universal Health Home Visit targets and enjoy engaging families and carers in our New Parents groups, sharing information and providing support to all that access the service. We work closely as a wider CYPF Service, facilitating cross discipline discussions and consultation, supporting referrals, quality improvement projects and ensuring we provide a high quality of service.

You will be part of a supportive Child and Family Health Nursing team that work across the Lower Mid North Coast. The successful applicant will receive orientation and training while in the role, they will also be required to complete Mandatory education. We encourage and support regular supervision, with group and individual supervision available.

About you:
Candidates for this position will enjoy working as part of a team and will be flexible in their ways of working, ensuring they can meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and the community. Our area's high indigenous population requires candidates to have a good understanding of ‘Closing The Gap’ and to be working towards cultural competence. Candidates will have excellent communication skills and be able to adapt communication styles when and as needed. Newer graduates will be supported, however will need to learn quickly as this is a short-term contract.

Requirements:
  • Current Registration as a registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Child and Family Health Qualifications.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW with a current drivers licence.
