Tamworth Hospital’s Maternity Service offers an exciting opportunity for Registered Midwives to join our Low Risk Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) team.

Our Level 4 Maternity Service is part of the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), with approximately 1,200 births per year. We are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive care across the full scope of midwifery practice, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, while making a real difference in the lives of women and families. You’ll practice and promote safe, efficient and effective midwifery group practice care that reflects current standards of midwifery practices and current Hunter New England Local Health District policies and procedures. 

We are unable to accommodate visa sponsorship for applicants requiring a visa for this position.

  • You may qualify for a $20,000 sign-on bonus if you have moved (evidence required) from MM1-2 (metro) location, interstate or internationally to work in our district. If you do not meet this criteria, attraction incentives of up to $10,000 may apply. Retention incentives of up to $10,000 after 12 months of service may also apply.     Information for Applicants:

    All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. 

    Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
