About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.
Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
We are seeking a Registered Midwife (MAPS) to join our dedicated Maternity team which will see you work within a supportive, collaborative, and progressive environment that is committed to delivering high-quality, family-centred care.
As part of our Multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and holistic Midwifery care to women, babies, and families across the continuum of pregnancy, birth, and postnatal services.
The Midwife "including New Graduate Midwife" working in the MAPS model coordinates and delivers high quality Midwifery care across the hospital and the home Antenatal and Postnatally. This care is delivered to maternity patients within the Antenatal Outpatients Department (OPD) and the community postnatal setting within the patients’ home.
The MAPS model of care is a collaborative service with individualised continuity of care through pregnancy and the early postnatal period by a known Midwife, empowering the woman to make health decisions that are unique to her and her circumstances. This will promote the philosophy that pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period is a normal life event, by providing evidence based best practice to promote optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes through collaborative woman centred care. Your role as the MAPS Midwife is responsible for maintaining their personal and professional development by participating in training/education activities, and performance reviews in order to continuously improve the level and quality of service they provide.
If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and continue your midwifery journey with one of NSW’s leading hospitals, we would love to hear from you.
