The Cancer Institute NSW is the NSW Government’s cancer control agency, established to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.

What you’ll be doing
 

 Manage the delivery of the Institute's records management function and activities, leading the design, implementation, and management of the Institute's records management system, programs and policies to support the optimal management of the organisation's information assets, whilst ensuring alignment with best practice methodologies and compliance requirements.

In addition to base salary:

Essential requirements
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in records and information management practices.
  • Knowledge and experience of theories, principles, and processes relating to the management of records and information with experience in the management of digital records and information within an electronic based records management system.
  • Knowledge of best practices standards and requirements under the State Records Act 1988.
  • Experience in records appraisal, disposal and approval processes, and the use of retention and disposal authorities to sentence records for archival, destruction, or transfer.
  • Tertiary Qualification or demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of records management training programs for experienced system users.
  • Desirable Certificate IV in Training & Assessment 


If successful for interview candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel.
 

Pre-screening questions 

  • Can you outline a challenge you have faced in ensuring records retention and disposal compliance, and how you addressed it?
  • What records management systems and tools have you used, and how have you ensured effective records classification, retention, and disposal (particularly in a hybrid records environment) in line with government policies?
