The Role

The Radiation Therapy Supervisor provides clinical supervision, leadership and oversight to a range of teams of Radiation Therapists in the provision of accurate radiation therapy simulation, planning, treatment and quality assurance to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist consistent with NSW Health SESLHD policies, Procedures & standards. The position will require a rotation to the planning  and treatment supervise roles

  1. Demonstrated high level ability and knowledge in all aspects of Radiation Therapy clinical practice including simulation, quality assurance, education, research, planning and treatment techniques and principles.
  2. High level experience and knowledge of current radiotherapy equipment to deliver effective services.
  3. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, with proven ability to provide guidance to staff.
  4. Demonstrated high level analytical skills, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to provide sound advice and recommendations across the service.
  5. Demonstrated drive, motivation, and strong leadership skills to coach, mentor, assess and develop staff in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  6. Demonstrated experience in supervising and supporting an effective team with the ability to determine priorities for others, allocate tasks and monitor work performance of staff to achieve work objectives.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and ability to provide Quality Assurance and accurate documentation in radiotherapy practice.
  8. Current EPA licence and registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA) as Medical Radiation Therapist.
