About the Opportunity
The role drives safety and quality improvement for Liverpool Hospital and supports the achievement of accreditation against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. The Quality and Accreditation Manager is part of the Clinical Governance Unit working with clinicians, hospital executive and district stream managers to lead improvement across the organisation. Your knowledge of QARS and QIDS will be essential to support a data driven approach to delivering on key improvement projects.

Foster and develop a continuous quality improvement and innovative practice culture across Liverpool Hospital.


Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

  1. Relevant quality improvement qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of work and study experience with extensive experience in an acute hospital environment.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the concepts and processes of the accreditation cycle, continuous quality improvement and risk management principles.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of the National Standards and their application across an acute care setting.
  4. Demonstrated skills in leadership, self-direction and experience with teaching and training staff.
