Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Services is a major teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre, providing excellent healthcare to south-eastern Sydney and specialist health and medical services to NSW.

We have 450 inpatient beds and almost 3,000 staff. Each year we care for more than 60,000 patients in our Emergency Department and around 50,000 patients are admitted to the inpatient units of our hospital. We also have a busy outpatient service and rural outreach service and provide more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year.

What you'll be doing

Our Provisional Fellow position will provide effective investigations and management of patients using clinical neurophysiology, under appropriate supervision, including patient assessment, performing procedures, treatment decisions and creating clear medical reports. The Provisional Fellow will develop expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
  2. Meets selection requirements for training as specified by the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN). Demonstrated achievement of a high standard of competence in clinical medicine including passing part 1 FRACP examination.
  3. Demonstrated involvement in neurological research, related clinical activities or clinical neurophysiology.
  4. Demonstrated high level communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
  5. Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  7. Demonstrated high level independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.
  8. Demonstrated interest and commitment to ongoing Medical Education and further education and practice in Neurology.
