The St George Hospital Interventional Radiology Service is a tertiary trauma centre where you can elevate your skills in a fast-paced growing Interventional Radiology Service and gain hands-on experience in high-acuity procedures, cutting-edge technology, and a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

The role of the Provisional Fellow in Interventional Radiology is to provide effective management of the Interventional Radiology service, under appropriate supervision. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to participate in all stages of the radiological examination or imaging guided procedures of patients as a medical expert, including advice to clinicians, referral, triaging, consenting, supervision, performance of the examination, reporting, record keeping, timely communication of results and post-procedure management.

St George Hospital is an accredited, principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales. It is the largest hospital in SESLHD with 627 inpatient beds. Selection Criteria

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care
  3. Demonstrated high level communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
  4. Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
  5. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  6. Demonstrated excellent academic record and demonstrated high level of radiology skills and clinical judgement
  7. Demonstrated previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training
  8. Demonstrated interest and commitment to further education and self-monitoring/audit practices
