An exciting opportunity exists at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney for a Provisional Fellow in Cardiology to provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. 

 
Where you'll be working 

St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney (SVHN) forms part of the NSW region of St Vincent’s Health Australia which is the largest diversified health care organisation within Australia’s not for profit and Catholic health care sectors. What you'll be doing 

The purpose of the position is to provide high level preventative, screening, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services across general and specialised cardiac medical problems. The Provisional Fellow is expected to undertake advanced level training in a sub-specialty area of Cardiology, under the supervision of specialist cardiologists and develop complex clinical skills to become clinically proficient prior to independent practice. 

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  2. Completion of both Basic Training (3yrs) and Advanced Training in Cardiology (3yrs) under the RACP training program requirements or equivalent
  3. Advanced ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
  4. Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  6. Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, and willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
  7. Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
  8. Advanced ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services.
