Focusing on innovative models of care, Orange Health Service is the largest rural hospital in NSW and the regional teaching, referral and trauma centre for the Central West. The 520 bed campus has a 150 bed general hospital, with five operating suites and 60 specialised treatment areas.
Opened in 2011, services include FACEM-staffed emergency, inclusive of trauma; level 5 intensive care, medical, general and specialist surgical; obstetrics; paediatrics; level 4 maternity; dialysis; dental; cardiology, stroke, telestroke, interventional cardiology; radiation oncology; ambulatory care; rehabilitation; sub-acute/non-acute; diagnostic and a range of primary and community health services.
The hospital has one of the largest regional clinical trials units conducting a range of trials (incl tele‐trials and phase 1 trials) across a several specialties.

Essential Requirements:
· MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
· Satisfactory completions of all the requirements laid out by the College of Intensive Care Medicine in the
· Objectives of Training: The Transition Year Guideline, including:
· Training time
· Assessments for the core intensive care medicine, anaesthetics and medicine years
· Second Part Exam
· Prescribed courses, learning packages and work-based assessments
· Submission of a Formal Project
· Two of the three sub-specialties in Cardiothoracic surgery, Neurology/Neurosurgery, intensive care
· and/or Trauma intensive care
· Current registration as a trainee with the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand, or eligible for and intent to obtain Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.
· Sufficient clinical experience in order to undertake the key accountabilities for this role
· Valid Working with Children Check
· Cleared National Police Check
· Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions
· To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.

1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
2. Current registration with the College of Intensive Care Medicine, eligible for registration as a Transition Year Fellow. The Transition Year position must be prospectively approved by the College prior to commencement of the term
3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including sharing of information internally or externally appropriately with key persons or services
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet challenging situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment
6. Demonstrated commitment to participating in self-directed training and development opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in the area of intensive care medicine
7. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management, working within agree unit guidelines and governance structures
8. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive workplace culture
