What you'll be doing
The Provisional Fellow is expected to provide expertise in the management of neonates with complex health problems, be adept in managing the care in the context of the individual family and locally available community support structures. Diagnosis of complex perinatal medicine whilst enhancing clinical experience in procedural, management and investigation skills, tertiary perinatal medicine including exposure to neonatal surgical, neonatal transport and other subspecialty services.
The role will be given protected research, education time and there may be opportunities to rotate through retrieval and other services to fulfil training requirements, including developmental and outpatient perinatal experience.
  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. 5 years post-graduate experience with a minimum of 12 months experience in Neonatal Intensive Care.
  3. Commitment to and requirement for further training in Neonatal Intensive Care.
  4. Demonstrated confidence and ability to function independently as first on-call.
  5. Demonstrated procedural, communication, team work and decision making skills.
  6. Demonstrated teaching ability and commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical and other clinical staff
  7. Experience in or demonstrated interest in research.
