The Provisional Fellow position in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine is available for the current 2025 Clinical Year at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, from 04 August 2025 to 01 February 2026.
This position is accredited for advanced training and would be suitable for a candidate interested in a career in general or subspecialty training. The position provides Advanced Trainees an opportunity to further their training, developing skills important for a consultant role in the spheres of clinical care, education and training as well as research with support from the team consultants and other health care professionals.
The Provisional Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the department for other junior medical staff and medical students as well as members of the multidisciplinary team, but also across the broader hospital community.

Selection Criteria:

MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.

Registered with the RACP, CICM, ANZCA or equivalent. Preference will be given to trainees working towards a career in intensive care.

A minimum of 18 months intensive care experience.

Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.

Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.

Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.

Demonstrated competency in paediatric life support with qualifications in APLS (instructor preferable) or equivalent. Please provide details.
