Liverpool Hospital
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

What you'll be doing

Provide effective clinical management and treatment of patients of the Liverpool Hospital Pain Service (LHPS).
 

The role includes: consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and supervision; participation in quality activities, professional development and continuing education.

 

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  2. Demonstrated experience in the field of pain medicine across the lifespan.
  3. Meet registration requirements for trainee of the Faculty of Pain Medicine.
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction.
  5. Demonstrated teamwork within a multidisciplinary team, and time management and problem solving skills in a complex clinical environment.
  6. Demonstrated ability to actively seek out improvements to service delivery, initiating change and consulting with those affected by the changes; allocating resources and proactively managing potential conflicts.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research (including experience with clinical research/clinical trials).
