About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager to lead the development and implementation of a cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) training program aimed at transforming de-escalation techniques for managing patients with reactive behaviors in hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and rollout of an interactive VR training program designed to reduce the use of restrictive practices and minimise dangerous incidents by enhancing staff confidence and skills in identifying and managing reactive behaviors.
- Oversee training workshops that empower nursing and interdisciplinary teams to recognise behaviours, select appropriate responses, and apply positive reinforcement, with real-time feedback through immersive VR simulations.
- Foster a culture of compassion, teamwork, and communication among nursing staff, security, and support personnel across clinical units, especially in areas with high incidences of code back responses involving older patients.
- Manage program evaluation and continuous improvement, ensuring broad accessibility for all interested staff following initial implementation.
