About the Opportunity 
We are excited to be recruiting a Towards Zero Suicides (TZS) Project Manager to develop the SWSLHD TZS initiatives. 

The service is seeking a Project Manager with experience delivering both new co-designed community mental health services as well as district wide cultural change and training initiatives.

This position will work across Macarthur and Liverpool, supporting staff to deliver compassionate and empathetic care. The successful applicant will find themselves working a Trauma-Informed, Recovery Oriented, Strengths-Based way.

What You'll be Doing
The primary purpose of the Project Manager is to p rovide expert advice, professional leadership, project management and education on all facets of development of a comprehensive change strategy and project plan and framework to support implementation of the “Towards Zero Suicide Initiatives” across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).

Where You'll Be Working 
SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.

 

These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health related discipline or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in clinical redesign.
  2. Can you describe your experience in leading complex mental health services? How have you applied structured change management methodologies and co-design principles to ensure inclusive, culturally responsive and sustainable services for diverse communities?
  3. How have you successfully engaged diverse stakeholders—including people with lived experience, clinicians, NGOs, and government bodies—in the development and implementation of mental health initiatives? Provide examples of how you built partnerships, managed risks, and ensured effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
