Program Manager – Health Education Strategy

Are you a passionate health professional with a strong clinical background and a proven track record in education, ready to shape the future of clinical learning across NSW?

HETI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Strategy Program Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative, evidence-based education initiatives that support the NSW Health workforce. This is a unique opportunity to influence statewide clinical education strategy and contribute to the development of high-impact learning resources that improve patient care and workforce capability.

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, large-scale education projects that support clinical capability across the NSW Health workforce. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to co-design high-quality, evidence-based clinical education programs. Your expertise in curriculum development, education design and evaluation will be key to shaping impactful learning experiences. With a strong focus on strategic alignment, you’ll ensure all initiatives are planned, monitored, and reported in line with HETI and NSW Health priorities.

All applicants must hold current registration with Ahpra as a health professional.
We strongly encourage applications from Registered Nurses (Division 1) and other Ahpra registered professionals with demonstrated leadership in health education.

Where you'll be working

The role is based in Sydney at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards in a modern, purpose-built 5 star rated green campus that is well serviced by public transport and access to public parking. The building offers activity-based working conditions with agile and flexible workspaces and the latest in technology, modern end-of-trip facilities, and secure bicycle storage. There is an onsite cafe, and a 100-space childcare centre.

HETI offers competitive remuneration (base salary plus super and leave loading), a monthly ADO (for full-time staff), comprehensive leave entitlements and discounted access to fitness facilities.

This full-time role offers hybrid work arrangements; however, due to the collaborative nature of the position, regular in-office attendance at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, is required multiple days (minimum 2 days) per week. Professional development is well embedded in our organisation and staff are encouraged to continue their studies and take opportunities for furthering their careers.

HETI is committed to promoting the diversity of our people and our learners through fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels safe to bring their whole selves to HETI. This includes actively breaking down barriers to enable staff to fully participate and be included in a way that respects and values difference. We encourage applications from people with disability, Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTIQA+ and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

As a part of NSW Health, HETI is driven by the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, building a positive workplace culture.

Experience the many great benefits of working for the NSW Government.

How to apply

All NSW Health employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct and the CORE values and principles that it promotes.

Your application must stand on its own merits, and the completeness and relevance of your application will determine if you proceed in the selection process.

During the selection process, candidates will be required to undergo additional assessments in determining their suitability for the role. Successful candidates will also need to agree to undergo a National Police Check.

As part of the selection process, we will also seek verification of experience, skills and qualifications you have provided in your application.

Additionally, you must also address the following two Targeted Questions (400-word limit per question) in the text boxes provided in the online application.

  1. Describe your experience in designing and delivering evidence-based educational programs within a clinical or health-related environment. What frameworks or methodologies did you use to ensure educational effectiveness?
  2. Provide an example of how you have collaborated with diverse stakeholders to develop or enhance an educational initiative. How did you ensure the content met the needs of both learners and the broader health system?

To be considered for this role, you must attach an up-to-date resume (5 pages maximum) that clearly outlines your skills and experience relevant to this role and a brief cover letter (2 pages maximum).
