The Strategic Capital Planning and Asset Management Branch is part of the newly established Infrastructure and Asset Management Division supporting capital planning, infrastructure delivery, and strategic asset management across NSW.

 

The Strategic Capital Planning Unit’s key function is to lead and support the process of capital planning and investment for the future.

 

About this role

 

This is a great opportunity to join the Strategic Capital Planning Unit of the Strategic Capital Planning and Asset Management Branch of the NSW Ministry of Health where you can influence key areas of planning for the NSW Health system.

 

You will gain exposure to the process NSW Health undertakes to determine how capital projects are planned, prioritised, determined, constructed and commissioned. This is an opportunity to develop your skills in health service planning and development and understanding of capital planning processes.

 

The position is located in St Leonards, in a modern, purpose-built building within an activity-based working environment. Close to public transport, cafés and local amenities.

 

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $145,378 - $168,130 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

 

  • The Principal Planning and Policy Officer provides high-level advice on the strategic and policy related issues in relation to capital planning.

 

  • Liaising with Local Health Districts and Specialty Health Networks, other Branches within the Ministry, NSW Treasury and other Government organisations are key elements of the role.

 

  • Strong liaison with internal entities such as Health Infrastructure, and Finance Branch.

 

  • Update complex policy directives and strategic plans that involve multiple stakeholders.

 

  • Prepare high quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and cabinet documents to inform or respond to agency or Government requests.
