Selection Criteria 

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant clinical discipline and/or equivalent experience; including extensive experience and record of achievement in managing the development, implementation, evaluation and refinement safety and quality improvement priorities and programs.
  2. Demonstrated high-level understanding of the delivery of care within the NSW health system and expert knowledge of current and emerging areas of clinical quality and patient safety. This includes expert ability to establish, maintain, develop and analyse the output from databases, and to source and utiise world-wide best practice evidence.
  3. Superior conceptual and analytical skills including experience interpreting complex information from numerous sources, preparing and presenting analysis and reports rapidly and accurately to a variety of audiences, and providing innovative solutions to complex patient safety issues.
  4. Demonstrated superior stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills including extensive experience leading, persuading, motivating and negotiating at senior levels; actively developing strategic partnerships; and engaging and influencing key stakeholders to adopt and implement improvement methodology and initiatives.
  5. Proven experience contributing to and promoting strategic initiatives including leading, developing and managing complex change at a large scale or state-wide level; provision of authoritative strategic advice; project management; and, implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  6. Superior interpersonal and communication skills including proven ability to deal with people at all levels from a wide range of professional backgrounds to achieve optimal patient safety outcomes.
  7. Demonstrated leadership skills including demonstrated experience developing the capability of a team, the ability to establishing, and monitoring and ensuring achievement of clear performance objectives, coaching and advising staff, and to fostering a collegial, professional work environment.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
