Principal Data Engineer
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated knowledge and curiosity for modern data engineering techniques and approaches along with experience building and improving existing data processes in regard to their efficiency, accuracy and reproducibility.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data projects in relation to complex health system programs, ideally with knowledge and experience in cloud concepts and terminology.
- Demonstrated experience using data management tools and software, ideally in a software environment including but not limited to SQL Server SAS, Python, Java, Javascript or other relevant languages. Experience with data workflow tools such as Apache Airflow, Make, etc will be viewed favourably.
- Strong knowledge and experience with general practice software vendors and sound understanding of the capture, analysis and use of data, as well as IT, clinical management systems and technology in the primary care health setting.
- Extensive experience in visualisation languages and tools such as R Shiny, QlikView, Tableau, PowerBI or similar programming applications will be desired.
- High level written, verbal communication, interpersonal and consultation skills, both inter- and intra-agency.
- Extensive knowledge of health-related data collections and systems, the strengths and weaknesses of these datasets and a good understanding of the NSW and Australian Health Systems will be highly preferred.
- Relevant software engineering or data engineering qualification or equivalent is preferred, a wide range of qualifications will be considered (e.g. statistics, actuarial, mathematics, or other) where there is demonstrated experience and interest in building data engineering workflows and infrastructure.
