About the role:

This role will see you assess, implement, and monitor treatment outcomes for paediatric patients meeting the inclusion criteria for this service - including congenital hip dysplasia; plagiocephaly; torticollis; talipes; developmental concerns; and gait and lower limb alignment concerns in 0-5-year-olds.

Establishing a network within the Paediatric Physiotherapy services at John Hunter Children’s Hospital will be a key link for clinical supervision and support. The Site Senior Physiotherapist will support opportunities to meet the staff both onsite and externally where required.

You will be required to work effectively across multiple sites, including Cessnock and Maitland Hospitals, depending on patient needs.

Where you'll be working:

You will work autonomously in the Outpatient setting, as part of our expanding Physiotherapy service at Maitland Hospital.

There is negotiated clinical space at Cessnock Hospital when required, as well as strong links between Community Child and Family Nurses and the Children’s services at John Hunter Children’s Hospital.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable communicator, who is able to tailor their communication to suit a variety of audiences with clarity and confidence. You thrive both working independently and as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, navigating complex situations with professionalism and ease. With a strong background in paediatric physiotherapy, particularly working with newborns and infants, you bring expert clinical knowledge and practical experience to your role.

You have demonstrated leadership in planning and evaluating team activities and are confident in providing supervision and mentorship to students and less experienced colleagues. Above all, you are committed, organised and passionate about delivering high-quality care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Requirements:

  • Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
