Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. Our Nursing Administration is seeking to engage a qualified Nurse Manager. This is an opportunity to further develop your leadership and management skills in a supportive environment. The Nurse Manager will oversee the provision of safe and effective patient flow using innovative practices in bed management.

In this position, you will ensure the effective patient care coordination across the facility through a whole of hospital approach. The Nurse / Midwife Manager will actively engaged in facility-based initiatives and NSW Health Strategies that contribute towards meeting key performance targets and ensuring timely access to patient care. This position also leads the coordination of patient flow, assess critical situations, and initiate contingency plans.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Must be a Registered Nurse/ Midwife holding current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia/Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Relevant tertiary qualification in management and /or extensive post graduate clinical and operational management experience within an acute health care environment, including previous department management experience.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of principles, systems and processes related to patient flow and patient transport
  4. Demonstrated experience in bed management or patient flow in an acute care setting.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of the challenges that influence / impact patient access to care.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary management team and ability to interpret data and seek information.
  7. High level verbal and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and lead organisational change in patient care.
  8. Current drivers licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
