About the role

  • Perform venepuncture and specimen preparation for storage and transportation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Assist with specialized procedures including Venesection and Synacthen testing.

  • Conduct non-blood collection procedures with professionalism and care.

  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong patient relationships.

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, adhering to WH&S principles, and following established policies and procedures.

About you

  • Experience & Skills: Minimum of 12 months’ experience in the vacutainer method of collection and extensive knowledge of venepuncture, along with appropriate qualifications or experience in pathology.

  • Customer Service Excellence: A proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service, with a professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Independent & Autonomous Worker: Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, managing tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and cover a rotating 7-day roster to support the unit's needs.

    Health & Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles, coupled with effective communication and interpersonal skills in a professional setting.
