About the Role

The Palliative Care Administrative Officer is a district-based role within the Sydney Local Health District Specialist Palliative Care Service, and will be responsible for providing accurate, timely and efficient high level secretarial support to the Deputy Director of Cancer Services and Palliative Care. This includes, but not limited to, the following:

  • High-level administrative support to district Specialist Palliative Care Programs.
  • Gathering, interpreting and summarising data, including analysing data and maintaining the Service’s database and information systems.
  • Secretariat support for the ambulatory care clinics.
  • Drafting correspondence, minute taking and scheduling of meetings as required.

Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated competency in using hospital-based computer software systems (e.g. eMR/Scheduler) and Microsoft Office systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as an effective member of the team with minimal supervision.
  • All candidates must have full working rights within Australia.
