The Prince of Wales Hospitals (POWH) Cancer Services provides multidisciplinary, coordinated, evidence-informed and research-driven care to patients with cancer and blood disorders in a world-class facility.

The position works closely with the POWH Cancer Services Executive through the Cancer Services Operations Manager to provide oversight and strategic development of all Cancer Services information needs. This includes the development and monitoring of quality processes, and the alignment of information systems and services to the priorities of the Cancer Services.

The position also leads, manages and contributes to the operations of the Informatics and Data Team to facilitate delivery of quality, cost-effective services, and achievement of business and service objectives.

A focus on innovation, emerging technologies and change implementation whilst managing risk is also key in this position. 

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.

A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.

Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Information Management, Pharmacy or another relevant discipline or experience to enable a through technical and/or data management knowledge and skills.
  2. Understanding and demonstrated experience in an oncology patient information system(s), preferably MOSAIQ as well as other health information systems.
  3. Demonstrated high level IT and computer skills and competency in system management and ability to manage complex health information and technology systems within a clinical environment.
  4. Demonstrated experience leading and nurturing a team; coaching and advising clinical and administrative managers and staff, whilst always fostering a performance based and customer focused work culture.
  5. Proven well-developed analytical and organisational skills including the ability to analyse, interpret and present reports and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise and multi-task, as required.
  6. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging and informing key stakeholders to achieve optimal business outcomes underpinned by a customer focused approach.
  7. Proven capacity to contribute to, and promote, strategic initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change, improve performance and project manage complex projects.
