This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

Tresillian is currently recruiting for a dynamic Nursing Unit Manager to join the Armidale team.

 

The Nursing Unit Manager is the most senior person on site and is supported by the multidisciplinary senior clinical and executive team at Tresillian based at Tresillian Belmore.

 

Tresillian is excited to offer this opportunity for an experienced Child and Family Health Nurse to join the Armidale team. The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) will be pivotal to the coordination of client care, centre management and leadership of the Family Care Centre team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care for families experiencing early parenting difficulties.

 

The successful applicant will utilise their partnership skills to engage stakeholders including partner organisations and referral agents.  They will possess strong contemporary child and family health nursing skills and have a clinical client load for part of the time. Professional development and reflective practice will be provided as part of the wrap-around support for those new to management, to enable you to achieve your aspirational career goals.

The NUM is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the Centre.  The NUM takes overall responsibility for the standard of client care in the centre and is pivotal to the coordination of client care, centre management and leadership of the nursing profession to ensure the delivery of high-quality client care and efficient use of resources.  The position will also provide clinical leadership and have a clinical client load for part of the time.

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading as Tresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). Tresillian is now the largest early child and family health and parenting service in Australia, operating from four sites in metropolitan Sydney and numerous regional and rural sites supporting service provision to families across NSW, Victoria and ACT.

Selection Criteria – Applicants must address the Selection Criteria 

1. Registered Nurse (Current Registration or eligible for registration with AHPRA) with further qualification in Child & Family Health.

2. Postgraduate management qualifications or working towards the same; or experience in leadership or management roles in a health setting with a proven ability to manage, supervise and provide leadership to the team; and demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making. 

3. Considerable experience in contemporary Child & Family Health.

4. Demonstrated ability to negotiate resolutions and manage conflict; creating and maintaining a positive workplace culture.

5. Demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical services and facilitate continuous improvements.

6. Demonstrate high level and effective written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Experience in developing and/ or implementing organisational change programs.

8. Demonstrated organisational skills including the capacity to set priorities and work to deadlines utilising Information and

9. Communications Technology appropriately.
