SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Service offers a range of treatment and support services for people with problems from their alcohol, prescription or illicit drug use, and/or their families and cares. Outpatient D&A services are located in clinics at the Langton Centre in Surry Hills, St George Hospital in Kogarah, and Caringbah Community Health Centre at Sutherland Hospital. Inpatient D&A services are provided at Sydney Hospital, Prince of Wales, St. George and Sutherland Hospitals.

The purpose of the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) is to:
- Lead, direct and co- ordinate patient or client care.
- Ensure the practice of nursing and/or midwifery is safe and efficient, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead and co-ordinate the nursing/midwifery and multi-disciplinary care team at the unit level.
- Monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the unit.

Selection Criteria
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).
- Post-graduate qualifications or experience as a Nursing Unit Manager, with demonstrated skills in leadership and management within a health care setting including negotiation and conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage change.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of drug and alcohol services including Opioid Treatment Programs.
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development to further advance their management and leadership competencies.
- Commitment to Primary Health Care philosophy and willingness to work within the harm reduction framework.
- Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation.
- A demonstrated understanding of quality improvement, research methodology and accreditation.
- Demonstrated level of oral and written communication skills and experience in preparing and editing high quality written material including complex reports, correspondence, briefings, papers and proposals.
