Experienced Nurse Seeking Management Role – Specialty in Instrument & Circulating Nursing
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced nurse to step into a Nursing Unit Manager Level 2 role within our dynamic surgical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical leader with expertise in instrument and circulating nursing to take on an advanced management role in a high-acuity environment.
As a Nursing Unit Manager Level 2, you will be responsible for the operational leadership and day-to-day management of the unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient- and family-centred care. This role carries greater scope and complexity than a Level 1 NUM, involving strategic oversight of patient services, staff development, and unit performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Leading and managing a skilled nursing team across multiple surgical specialties

Coordinating high-quality perioperative care with a focus on safety and efficiency

Overseeing staffing, professional development, and performance management

Driving continuous improvement and supporting nursing/midwifery excellence

Collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals
This role is ideal for a motivated nurse leader ready to influence clinical care at a strategic level and support the continued growth of our surgical services.

Ideal Candidate
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Proven clinical management and leadership experience in a tertiary/district health care facility.
- Holds or working towards relevant post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Expertise in instrument and circulating roles
- Ability to lead in one or more subspecialties include but not limited to:
