About the role: 

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 to lead the team on Ward H1, a 24-bed general paediatric unit at John Hunter Children’s Hospital. Ward H1 provides care for infants and children with a wide range of medical conditions up to their 13th birthday. This fast-paced and rewarding environment offers diverse clinical presentations, giving staff the opportunity to gain and apply valuable paediatric nursing skills - from fundamental care to specialised treatments.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in guiding a team of passionate and committed professionals. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, fostering team cohesion, and driving continuous improvement in clinical practice. Ward H1 is part of a broader paediatric network within the hospital, including acute wards, day stay, outpatient services, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a leading tertiary paediatric facility.

Typical working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, with flexibility as needed.
