About the opportunity

  • To provide effective leadership and strategic direction within the unit to ensure high quality clinical practices and patient care.

  • To tactically manage the operational, financial, human and information resources within the unit liaising with the relevant Clinical Director.

  • To provide effective Nursing leadership within the Clinical Program to ensure high quality clinical practices and client care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant Nursing qualifications. Current registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW.

  • Experience in providing management and leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to develop good multidisciplinary relationships and progress change management initiatives

  • A professional manner with excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to perform all activities within the Mercy mission, vision and core values

  • Demonstrated computer literacy

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.

  1. Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  2. Tertiary qualification in health management or working towards or a combination of study and work experience
  3. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated experience in budget development and monitoring financial performance.
  5. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate inspire and manage staff to achieve service and organisational goals utilising recognised change management principles.
  6. Understanding of the accreditation process, participation in quality improvement activities and clinical redesign projects which support the quality process.
  7. Proven ability in Windows based programs and/or computer based rostering systems.
  8. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the values of the Justice Health NSW
