Nurse Practitioner - Drug & Alcohol Services

1. Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia including endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner or working towards same as per the NMBA Guidelines on endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner within 6 months.
2. Post graduate qualifications at Masters level, in a NMBA approved program of study or relevant clinical specialty, or working towards.
3. Demonstrated high level knowledge and advanced clinical skills, competence and leadership in assessment, treatment and management of patients with substance use disorders, extensive clinical experience in opioid treatment, including physical, mental health, social and cultural dimensions.
4. Proven high level knowledge and expertise in complex client centred consultancy, practice development activities including mentoring, education, active participation in communities of practice, policy development and quality improvement.
5. Excellent leadership, negotiation, liaison, interpersonal problem-solving skills with proven ability to use appropriate teaching/learning strategies to educate and support others within the speciality of Drug & Alcohol services.
6. High level knowledge and understanding of current and trending issues impacting on the provision of drug and alcohol care in NSW including the provision of outpatient opioid agonist treatment for opioid dependence and the ability to lead and implement changes by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence-based research.
7. Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while also working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multi service environment.
8. Capacity to work across LHD sites if required.
