What you'll be doing

As an integral member of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) Nursing and Midwifery Directorate, the Nurse Manager, Leadership Mentoring Program Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of nursing and midwifery leadership. This role involves working collaboratively with SESLHD nursing and midwifery stakeholders and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Program Lead to co-design and implement a sustainable, impactful mentoring program tailored for leaders by leaders.
 
A key responsibility of this position is to lead a project with relevant stakeholders across SESLHD and ISLHD to develop, implement and evaluate a leadership mentoring program using appreciate inquiry.
 
The SESLHD N/MM- Leadership Mentoring Program lead will use the cycle of appreciative Inquiry to co-create a leaders and future leaders mentoring program, a mentor and mentee toolkit and an evaluation framework.

 Selection Criteria
  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, and current Drivers Licence and willingness to utilise as required for the position.
  2. Relevant leadership and management tertiary qualification or working towards same, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  3. Demonstrated leadership ability in the design, implementation and evaluation of professional development programs.
  4. High level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to engage, liaise, consult and negotiate in the collaborative way with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Experience in working within a developmental framework with demonstrated experience in mentorship, appreciative inquiry and practice development approaches.
  6. Broad clinical and operational experience within a complex health care environment.
  7. High level organisational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines whilst dealing with competing demands.
