- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, and current Drivers Licence and willingness to utilise as required for the position
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management or working towards attainment, with demonstrated experience in nursing/midwifery management roles
- Demonstrated ability to lead the design, delivery and evaluation of District -wide strategies relating to Nursing and Midwifery Workforce, skill mix and models of care.
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, problem solving and planning skills and the ability to apply these to support SELHD Nursing and Midwifery strategic directions.
- High level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to engage, liaise, consult and negotiate in a collaborative way with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional and practice issues surrounding nursing and midwifery clinical practice at a local, national and international level.
- Sound organisational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines whilst dealing with competing demands
- Excellent computer literacy skills in all aspects of MS Office and corporate systems, including data management
