South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Service (SESLHD MHS) is looking for a dynamic, creative and motivated individual for a permanent full-time position as a Nurse Educator (Grade 2) working within our Mental Health District Education Team We are seeking an experienced and innovative Registered Nurse/Nurse Educator to join and lead our team as a clinical leader within SESLHD Mental Health Service - Working in Mental Health has never been more important or meaningful!
This role will provide high level education development, evaluation and support to Clinical Nurse Educators and clinical staff across the District and will be responsible for providing clinical education and mentorship to our existing and expanding nursing and multi-disciplinary workforce across the service, ensuring education programs are developed and delivered that promote best practice with a focus on strengths and recovery. Selection Criteria:
- Registered Nurse with post registration nursing clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area of Mental Health, or qualifications deemed equivalent by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical teaching and education to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills.
- Holding post registration clinical/education qualifications relevant to the position, with extensive relevant experience in mental health and physical health.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving and decision-making skills in relation to managing responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs to enhance a high standard of care and collaboration with carers, service users and services providers.
- Demonstrated sound organisational skills and the ability to be resourceful, proactive and flexible to successfully manage competing issues and deadlines.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.
- Experience working with the practice development principles, including experience in facilitation of group education.
