About Us

Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Nurse Educator to join the Education and Training Services team based at Hawkesbury District Hospital on a permanent part time basis working 24 hours per week.

 

The Nurse Educator 2 for Hawkesbury Hospital will be responsible for the design, development, coordination, delivery, evaluation and accreditation of education related to clinical practice in health care. This includes development strategies associated with district priorities.

In this role you will ensure that educational and other strategies reflect evidenced based best practice, associated policies and procedures, agreed Organisational and Service goals and measure organisational return on investment (ROI). You will achieve this by establishing robust educational partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders including managers, clinicians, education staff, education providers, HETI, the CEC and relevant professional organisations.

You will represent Hawkesbury Hospital on relevant committees and provide reports to inform achievement of key educational objectives as required. The position will advocate across NBMLHD for education initiatives and proactively respond to emerging learning needs.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  2. Relevant post graduate qualification in clinical area and/or education.
  3. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Acute Health Care environments.
  4. Proven experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical education programs within a large, diverse organisation.
  5. Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work in a consultative manner and to supervise other educators and trainers.
  6. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
  7. Ability to effectively manage projects in a timely manner.
  8. Current Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
