Where you'll be working

Lismore Base Hospital is a regional referral, Level 5 base hospital providing a wide range of health services to residents in Northern NSW.  These services include a state-of-the-art Operating Theatre Suite, Intensive Care/Cardiac Care Unit, General Medical and Surgical Wards, Womens Care Unit, Paediatric Unit, Renal Unit, Emergency Department, Medical Imaging department and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.  Mental Health Inpatient Units, the North Coast Cancer Institute, Pathology, Pain Management Clinic, and Specialist Outpatient Clinics are also located on the Lismore Base Hospital campus.   Lismore Base Hospital multi-million-dollar redevelopment has recently been completed.  For more information see Lismore Base Hospital Redevelopment.

Selection Criteria

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
  2. A current clinical appointment to practice at the hospital
  3. Demonstrated commitment to and confidence in improving the quality of education and training offered by the hospital
  4. Demonstrated genuine interest in postgraduate medical education, a willingness to develop expertise in this area, and an understanding of the importance of the continuum of medical education as a lifelong professional commitment
  5. Evidence of a commitment to the mission of HETI and the ability to present and explain HETI’s goals
  6. Demonstrated excellent communication, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups
