We have an exciting opportunity to join the Greater Newcastle Podiatry & High Risk Foot team as a New Graduate. This two-year position as a new grad podiatrist in the team will see you build on your clinical skills in a supportive team across Greater Newcastle area. This includes working in the High-Risk Foot Service based as the John Hunter Hospital. This is an amazing place to start your career and grow professionally. About the role:
The New Grad Podiatrist provides high quality podiatric service across a range of clinical areas, with a diverse and complex caseload, predominately including a high-risk foot service to clients and carers of the Greater Newcastle area (GN) and Hunter New England Health. You will be exposed to all aspects of podiatry with a special focus on both high-risk management and community podiatry.

This is a fantastic role for so many reasons. First off, you get to be part of a large team of Podiatrists, Allied Health assistants, nurses and doctors, which means you can learn from others while providing holistic care. You also get to use tools that make diagnosing and treating foot issues really effective. You would also be able to learn from very skilled podiatrists and build upon your clinical skills in High Risk Foot Care. Another great thing is the sense of purpose you get from working in Hunter New England Health. You're not just helping individual patients; you're making a difference in the whole community's wellbeing. The successful candidate will be supported by the Service Manager and team members, with plenty of support and orientation to the role.

About the Service:

Greater Newcastle Podiatry & High Risk Foot team is committed to delivering excellent care for individuals with high-risk foot conditions. The team offers comprehensive services, including a high-risk foot clinic based at John Hunter Hospital. You would be using advanced diagnostics to accurately diagnose foot issues. The team work together to support their patients, providing individual treatment plans and education to prevent future foot problems. There is a real focus on achieving patient centred outcomes and working together to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

About you:
Our ideal candidate will be a reliable individual who is an excellent communicator and can demonstrate enthusiasm. You should have a passion for podiatry and especially the high risk foot and patient care. You should be able to work effectively in a busy environment, have excellent prioritisation skills and work well within a team.

Requirements:
  • Podiatrist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
