Selection Criteria 

1.            Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award, and/or working towards FRACMA and/or other postgraduate qualifications that are appropriate and pertinent to the function of the role, and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

2.          Demonstrated experience and effective performance in a senior leadership role in a complex health organization, including strategic planning, medical workforce planning and management, and change management.

3.          Demonstrated experience and capability in driving a culture of professional medical administration and governance, inclusive of issues relating to senior and junior medical workforce, medical professional practice, clinical governance, service delivery, ethics, teaching, and leadership, developed in a substantial senior medical management role relevant to the position.

4.          Demonstrated capability in communication, complex negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health sector, the community, and various professional groups.

5.          Demonstrated ability to lead, persuade and negotiate at a senior management level to achieve key objectives, maintain organisational strategy and to ensure alignment with operational activity.

6.          Demonstrated expertise in clinical leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and training skills to support a range of change management initiatives with demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

7.          Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with clinician managers and other stakeholders with a hands-on approach.

8.         Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
